Jonathon Waterhouse

I am a Director and Head of the Conveyancing Department at Barker Booth & Eastwood. I am a qualified Solicitor with extensive residential and commercial property experience.

I help individuals, families, investors and companies with their residential and commercial property matters throughout England and Wales for a wide range of national and international clients. I have also previously acted for public authorities and housing associations.

Since qualifying as a solicitor in 2012, I have held roles at a number of regional and national firms including Napthens, Brabners and Stephensons. Prior to qualifying, I worked in-house for UK house builder Taylor Wimpey specialising in the sale of new build and part exchange properties.

My experience with residential property matters includes; Leasehold and Freehold sales and purchases, new build plot sales and purchases including Help to Buy and Shared Ownership, Auction sales and purchases, Remortgages, Transfers of Equity and Equity release, Leasehold deeds of variation, Probate transfers, sales, assents and matrimonial transfers and Freehold purchases, Residential Development including site acquisition, setup and sales including drafting and negotiating the associated statutory agreements. Additionally, I have experience acting for landlords and tenants in drafting and negotiating leases and associated documents including licences to assign, alter and underlease, agreements for lease, rent deposit deeds and heads of terms, as well as individual property and portfolio refinancing.

In relation to commercial property, I have helped individual investors, landlords and companies with Buy to Let Sales, Purchases, HMOs, Acquisition and disposal of residential, commercial and mixed-use properties, Conditional and unconditional contracts, commercial auction sales and purchases, Option Agreements and pre-emption agreements, Acquiring properties for and leasing properties on behalf of SIPPs and SSAS (Self-Invested Personal Pensions and Small Self-Administered Schemes).

Outside of work my biggest love is travel, often involving a themepark!
