The Barker Booth & Eastwood Team are delighted to celebrate the news of Clare Welsby becoming a qualified Solicitor.
Clare Welsby joined the firm in 2010 as a Paralegal in the Personal Injury Department and has been completing a Solicitor Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Central Lancashire. After 3 years of hard work, grit and determination – all whilst juggling work and family life – she has reached her dream of becoming a Qualified Solicitor.
The Solicitor Apprenticeship program offers an alterative pathway to traditional routes, combining practical work experience with academic study. A perfect opportunity for Clare, who completed her law degree 12 years ago and decided to continue with her qualifications later on.
Commenting on her final exam pass, Clare said: “It honestly doesn’t feel real. I never thought it would be possible. As I got older with children, I thought I wouldn’t be able to juggle working, studying and family life. I am so glad I didn’t give up. I am very grateful to Barker Booth & Eastwood for all their support over the years. Particularly my colleagues in the Personal Injury Department who have been my cheerleaders. I’m hoping I have at least inspired my children to not give up on their dreams and taught them that you can achieve anything if you work hard.”
Clare is now settling into her new role as a Solicitor in the Personal Injury Department and embarking on a new chapter where she can assist people who have suffered injuries and wish to explore compensation claims to aid their recovery.
The team got together to celebrate Clare’s good news and promotion in their Blackpool office, to present her with flowers, cards and gifts.
Congratulations Clare! We all knew you could do it!
