A crucial part of buying or selling property successfully is getting the legal aspects of the transaction right.
Choosing a Conveyancing Quality Scheme accredited firm to act for you can assist in achieving a smoother transaction.
Barker Booth & Eastwood are accredited by The Law Society as a member of the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) so you can be assured of the highest level of professional service from us.
How do you know which firm to choose?
Personal recommendation is an excellent way of selecting a legal firm. We’re proud that a large proportion of our conveyancing work comes from personal recommendations. However, if you don’t know anyone who has bought or sold a property recently then choosing a legal firm that has Conveyancing Quality Scheme accreditation is another excellent way of making a choice.
Let’s look at the scheme in a little more detail to see why it’s so important.
What is the Conveyancing Quality Scheme Accreditation?
The Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme was launched in 2011 to improve the transparency of transactions and create a trusted community of conveyancers offering exceptional residential conveyancing services within England and Wales.
The scheme requires us to raise service levels to the highest standard, provide clear communication and have efficient processes. As part of our membership, we must evidence that we meet this exceptionally high standard.
What makes a legal firm eligible for CQS Accreditation?
To be eligible for accreditation, we must have demonstrated and evidence compliance with the Conveyancing Protocol, deliver expert advice, be transparent about costs and use standardised processes to reduce risks.
Accreditation lasts for a period of 12 months and we must go through the rigorous accreditation process each year to maintain membership.
As part of the accreditation process, we show that we follow The Law Society’s Conveyancing Protocol and operate within the Core Practice Management Standards.
Only firms that are CQS accredited are allowed to use accreditation logo. You’ll find the logo on our website to show that Barker Booth & Eastwood’s accreditation is fully up to date.
What will choosing a CQS accredited legal firm such as Barker Booth & Eastwood mean for you?
You will have peace of mind that your transaction is being dealt with by competent conveyancers who will:
- Regularly review the matter
- Treat you fairly
- Remain transparent about costs
- Manage your expectations
Not only does CQS accreditation give you confidence, it also gives lenders peace of mind that our firm will deliver exceptional service whilst complying with the protocol set out by the Law Society.
Because we’re CQS accredited, lenders trust that our staff are fully trained in dealing with transactions and work hard to identify potential fraud, protecting their interest and monies.
