Congratulations to Matthew Mainds, who was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales on 2 April 2026.
Matthew joined the firm over three years ago as a Conveyancing Assistant, working alongside Mo Adam and under the supervision of Jonathon Waterhouse, where he quickly became known for his attention to detail and commitment to developing his legal career. Following a successful probation period, it was clear he had the potential to progress, and the firm was pleased to support him in pursuing his ambition of qualifying as a solicitor.
In October 2024, Matthew commenced his 18-month training contract, reduced from the 24-month period, due to his existing experience. During this time, he continued to develop his technical ability and professionalism, becoming a valued and trusted member of the team.
Following qualification, Matthew will leaving us to join a larger North West-based firm headquartered in Preston, where he will focus on commercial property – a key area of interest for him.

Reflecting on his own path into the profession, Jonathon added:
“I was fortunate to get my own opportunity to train with a boutique property firm located on Deansgate in Manchester. Remembering the competition and difficulty in securing a training contract, I believe it is important and I am passionate about creating those same opportunities for others.”
While it is always sad to see a valued member of the team move on, we are proud to have played a part in Matthew’s early career and have no doubt this is just the beginning of a long and successful future.
