Sharon Rigby recently supported a young client who suffered a painful knee injury after a nasty fall on the high street, caused by ice leaking from a local shop. The accident required substantial medical treatment and rehabilitation, impacting her daily life for some time.
Although the claim was relatively modest, settling at £8,000, the outcome meant a great deal to the client. Now fully recovered and with her claim concluded, she has embarked on an exciting new chapter – travelling around South East Asia ahead of starting a teaching role in Thailand this April.
Sharon’s client is currently volunteering at a rural school in Lombok, Indonesia, and she was saddened to learn that teachers there earn just the equivalent £20 per month. Using part of her compensation, she has made a sizeable donation to the school and local families, making a real difference within the community.
She has truly turned a painful experience into something positive – and the families in Lombok have even extended their thanks to the Barker Booth & Eastwood team for helping make it possible.
This is an example of how sometimes, it is not the largest settlement that makes the biggest impact to someone’s life.
